Important Update for SSC JEE Aspirants: New Negative Marking Criteria

SSC Government Job Alert: If you are gearing up for the SSC JEE recruitment examination, it is imperative that you acquaint yourself with the latest notification recently issued by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). On Monday, the SSC made significant alterations to the negative marking policy for the Junior Engineering Examination recruitment. The Staff Selection Commission will be responsible for the appointment of 1324 Junior Engineer (JE) positions. Remarkably, the application count has already surpassed three hundred thousand for the Junior Engineer Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Recruitment Examination 2023. To this end, the SSC has disseminated an official notification through its designated website.

The notification explicitly states that for each incorrect response in Paper-1, a deduction of 0.25 marks will be applied. Additionally, Paper-2 will now impose a penalty of 1 mark for every erroneous answer. This is a departure from the previous policy, which levied negative marking equivalent to one-third of the total marks in both papers. It is crucial to note that the SSC JE recruitment examination is slated for October, and the tentative schedule has just been unveiled.

Presently, of the 1324 recruitment positions, 613 are categorized as unreserved, 121 fall under the EWS category, 288 are designated for OBC, 96 for ST, and 206 for SC applicants. Regrettably, information regarding vacancies in the Water Resources Department is yet to be disclosed. The selection process hinges on an individual's performance in both Paper-1 and Paper-2, which will comprise objective type questions.
